Pirates outfileder Starling Marte will serve an 80 game suspension after violating the league's policy on performance enhancing drugs. Marte tested positive for Nandrolone (Anabolic Steroid). He will not be paid during the suspension nor will he be eligible to play the post season should the Pirates make the playoffs.
