Guest began arriving around 9p.m. and we’re treated to cocktails by the pool. Performances were made by Usher, Lil’Kim, Doug E. Fresh, and a special surprise performance from Mary J. Blige lasting over an hour.

“It was an emotional evening. [Gospel singer] Marvin Sapp sang Puffy’s favorite spiritual song, ‘Never Would Have Made It.’ Puffy got real emotional,” a guest told Page Six.

Some people who have not shared spaces for a while were brought together.

“It was definitely the first time exes Ray-J and Kim had been in the same room in a while,” the guest said. “The Carters [Jay-Z and Beyonce] and the Wests were in the same section and said hello.”

The legendary icon has dealt with a difficult time as of late, following the 2018 death of Kim Porter, the mother of his children. Diddy, whose birthday was actually November 4th, reportedly chose to delay his celebration three times to line up with what would have been Porters 49th birthday. On Sunday December 15th, Diddy posted an emotional compilation of videos of Kim over the years. Kim and Diddy were together for over 10 years, birthing three children, Christian, 21, and 12-year-old twin daughters, D'Lila Star and Jessie James. Diddy also adopted Porter's son Quincy Brown, 28.
