Pittsburgh Pup to Play in This Year's Puppy Bowl

Make us proud, Kenny!

Discovery, Inc. TCA Winter Panel 2020

I'd like to interrupt my regularly-scheduled Bachelor programming for a second because, man, do I have the best news ever for you. While perusing Twitter yesterday, I discovered that one of Pittsburgh's very own pups is competing in this year's puppy bowl on Animal Planet. Friends, meet Kenny.

According to the Trib, Kenny was adopted from Animal Friends in Ohio Township after he competed in the Puppy Bowl in October. Animal Friends, a humane organization that focuses on rescue and adoption, tweeted that this will be the third consecutive year that an Animal Friends alumnus will compete in the Puppy Bowl.

Each year, Animal Planet hosts a Puppy Bowl to promote animal adoption, and this year is no exception. According to the Animal Planet's official Puppy Bowl site, this year is their biggest one yet. The Puppy Bowl is in its 16th year, and in past years, 100% of the puppies and kittens who come from all over the country have been adopted by loving families after competing in the Puppy Bowl. Kenny has already been adopted, but Animal Friends has plenty more adorable pups that are just waiting to find the perfect owners. To see them, check out Animal Friends' "Adopt-a-Bowl" at 3PM on Sunday at their facility in Ohio Township.

If you want to cheer Kenny on as you prep the buff chick dip for the main event, watch this year's Puppy Bowl, also known as "Puppy Bowl XVI", on Animal Planet at 3PM this Sunday, February 2nd.
