In today's weird casting news, SNL's Pete Davidson has been chosen to play the iconic role of George Bailey in an upcoming virtual table read of the Christmas classic, It's a Wonderful Life, to benefit the Ed Asner Family Center. While the tattoo-clad Pete might seem like an odd choice to portray the wholesome holiday hero, Matthew Asner, co-founder of the nonprofit organization, said that they are thrilled to have Pete in the leading role with his "talented wit and clever vocalizations".

Pete will lead an all-star cast featuring The Office's Ellie Kemper, Euphoria's Maude Apatow, and, according to the website, special surprise guests. If you want to spend your holidays with Pete, or maybe you're just a Christmas movie afficionado, treat yourself to a ticket to the table read as an early Christmas gift here. Merry Christmas, everyone!
