The Gen Z Disney drama continues!

I don't know when exactly I became everyone's resource for all the gen Z Disney drama going on, but here we are. For context, I am 26 years old and have not watched the Disney Channel in at least ten years. I cannot tell you how many people have texted me and asked to explain the whole Olivia Rodrigo-Joshua Bassett-Sabrina Carpenter love triangle, and honestly, I'm here for it. I grew up in the era of Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, and today's drama was getting a little stale for me. I could spend hours explaining this new love triangle to you, but the latest development is that Joshua Bassett, who Olivia Rodrigo's massive hit single 'Driver's License' is presumably about, has released his second post 'Driver's License' single, and it's a lot. The first one was called 'Lie Lie Lie', about, according to genius.com, a friend lying behind someone's back. Fans think he was shading Olivia Rodrigo in 'Lie Lie Lie', and he just added fuel to the fire with his new single, 'Only a Matter of Time'. 'Only a Matter of Time' is, again, about someone lying. Listen below:

Not that anyone asked, but here are my two cents on the matter. If this whole Joshua Bassett and Olivia Rodrigo feud is real, and Joshua Bassett is singing about Olivia Rodrigo in his new songs, then he's losing the feud. In my opinion, 'Driver's License' is just a better song. That's all there is to it. Also, if you're a 20-year-old boy trying to antagonize a 17-year-old girl who just needed to vent to the world about her feelings for you, you can take several seats. I'm never here for boys antagonizing girls, so I am 100% #TeamOlivia. Alexa, play 'Driver's License'.
