Nomination Letter:

Recently our community was saddened by the unexpected death of community member and friend Bill Miller. Bill was very involved with our local Volunteer Fire Company and as long as I have known him a great supporter of the Menallen Elementary School. For many years every Fire Prevention Week Bill along with the New Salem VFD would donate 400 smoke detectors to every student at the Menallen Elementary in the Uniontown Area School District. Recently I was approached by our neighbor, a past student of Menallen School and a current Junior Fireman of the New Salem VFD and student in the Uniontown High School in regard to keeping Bills memory alive and commitment to the safety of our students in the Menallen Elementary School Family. Josh Radovich is now on a mission to raise $2000 to purchase 400 smoke detectors and to donate them in honor of Bill to every student at Menallen Elementary School. With that mission in mind Josh needed our help!He started a campaign through Facebook to raise these funds and is so very close to his goal, but his hopes is to keep this “Campaign of Giving” going for many, many years in honor of and in the memory of Bill Miller and in some small way help to keep the students and their families safe if a fire should occur in their home.If awarded the Mikey and Bob’s Spectacular Super Special Stand Out Student Award Josh will be well ahead of his goals for next year.
