Dua Lipa‘s Future Nostalgia 80s style album is here and I'm not exaggerating when I say it may be the best pop album released in 2020 so far. That's no knock to The Weeknd, his album is full of gems but every song is consistently a BOP on DL's album. My current favorite is 'Levitating' - that has a super groovy feel, with fun, astrology-themed lyrics like “I’m feeling so electric, dance my arse off,” and "My sugarboo, I'm levitating. The Milky Way, we're renegading."
Future Nostalgia does a perfect job of describing the art design of her new music video released yesterday for one of the songs off her new album, "Break My Heart". The set design and costume contrast with each other. It's like if the "Heathers" stepped onto the set of "The Fifth Element". And I love the witty transitions with Dua Lipa in the center of all the shots with the most adorable outfits.
You can listen to the album Future Nostalgia on the iHeartradio app if you are a premium listener. If you aren't, here's a link to start a 30-day free-trial. https://www.iheart.com/upgrade/ Trust me, during these times, it helps fill the void of self isolation.
Check out this blog post on how I hypothesized this decades trends and style. And then tell me how I was wrong? "You're gonna look at me and tell me I'm wrong? AM I WRONG?"
P.S...In case you're wondering what I'm referencing when I say "AM I WRONG?" I put the video below because it's my favorite argument on the internet and I will use any excuse I have to re-watch it.
