Taylor Swift Dishes on 2019 Wango Tango, Teases More Clues About #TS7 Album

Are you ready for it?! Taylor Swift is set to perform at iHeartRadio’s 2019 Wango Tango and she’s just as excited about it as we are 🙌 The songstress phoned into On Air With Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, April 30, just minutes after Ryan Seacrest announced the epic addition to the summer concert, which also features performances by Halsey, 5 Seconds of Summer, Zedd, Ally Brooke with special guest Tyga, Ava Max, Fletcher, TXT and the Jonas Brothers

“It just feels really great to have such amazing feedback from the fans and have them combing through the video trying to figure out details — they’re the best,” Taylor gushed on-air, referring to her record-breaking new single and music video “ME!”, which kicked off the highly-anticipated wait of #TS7 last week.

“There’s so many little clues in the video,” Swift added, confirming the #TS7 album title and track titles are indeed hidden in the “ME!” music video.

“There’s kind of different levels to the crypticness,” she explained. "Like, some of the symbolic references they’ll understand in a couple months and some they’ll get when they really go through the album like some of the lyric references — but, it’s really fun to put that stuff together because I’ve been doing stuff like this for like 15 years,” she added, giving a nod to those iconic lyric books.

While Swift admits that yes, there is tons to decipher in “ME!”, she wouldn’t confirm nor deny any fan theories.

“It takes a lot of planing and it’s basically a flex on planning,” she joked. “This is how far ahead of things I planned this album … it’s more of an experience … I think it’s fun for us to create like an event … make it more fun for them to talk about and think about it and they’re awesome. … I’m definitely going to tell them everything about the album in due time.”

As we await the full drop, we have both the Billboard Music Awards and 2019 Wango Tango performances to look forward to.

“This song is such a celebration and it’s so playful,” Swift added. “… The ultimate main purpose of this song when I thought of this melody … I was like, 'It’s so catchy, what do we want to get stuck in people’s head?' And what I wanted was to make people happy about themselves because I think right now everyone literally is so neurotic and insecure and anxious about things, you know? … I think there should be like a way for us to have a song stuck in our heads that reinforces the fact that we’re individuals, we’re different and obviously there are a lot of songs about ‘I’m special,’ but I hadn’t heard one recently that was about I’m special because of who I am.”
