Before he became an actor, Adam Driver joined the Marine Corps. He joined shortly after the attacks of 9/11 and served for just under three years. Before he was ever deployed, Driver broke his sternum while mountain biking and he was medically discharged before his unit deployed to Iraq. Because of that experience, Driver knew exactly how U.S. Army veteran John Williams felt. Williams was also injured just before being deployed for Operation Desert Storm.
