As Hurricane Irma destroys everything in it's path, I felt it necessary to recognize the brave reporters who put it all on the line to deliver that addicting hurricane coverage you can't stop watching. But remember, when you take on a hurricane, the hurricane always wins.
Irma was downgraded from a hurricane to tropical storm Monday, but not before robbing 5.8 million Floridians of their power and taking the lived of at least 42 people in Florida and the Caribbean. Florida was ravaged by 130 mph winds, strong storm surges, and torrential downpours that led to cartoonish flooding. The National Weather Service reported Monday that flooding from a storm surge in Jacksonville had exceeded a record set by Hurricane Dora in 1964.
