I haven't eaten fast food or drank pop in a really long time. I know it's terrible for my body, so I made a conscious decision to stop eating it when at all possible.
Kids on the other hand, don't necessarily have the choice of what they eat on a daily basis. They rely on their parents to make those decisions for them, and parents can be overwhelmed by everyday life. A lot of times, the fastest and easiest food choice is not the healthiest.
The founder and CEO of Panera Bread, Ron Shaich, issued a challenge to CEOs of fast food restaurants like Wendy's, McDonald's, and Burger King, to eat from their own kid's menus for a week. Or to reevaluate what they are serving kids in their own restaurants.
Panera now offers nearly their entire menu in kid size portions, creating about 250 choices for parents and kids. I like everything about this.
