Nantucket has some of the best beaches in the country. If you've never been, definitely try to go. August/early September is probably the best time of year to go for beach bums, but if you're a surfer, year-round will do.

Not too far away, in Falmouth, Mass. the ocean actually froze solid! Imagine being next to the ocean and not hearing any waves. Amazing!
