Coca Cola Planning Its First Alcoholic Beverage

Coca Cola is making plans for it's first ever alcoholic beverage, which will be tested in Japan. Sorry Coke, the rum & coke has been around for years... you're a little late.

Coca-Cola’s Japan unit has long sold many drinks that aren’t available elsewhere, including various teas and coffees and a laxative version of Coke called Coca-Cola Plus that was marketed as a health drink.

“We haven’t experimented in the low-alcohol category before, but it’s an example of how we continue to explore opportunities outside our core areas,” said the head of Coke Japan.

Seeing as the soft drink market has suffered horrible losses in the past few years, one could expect to see more soft drink companies testing this idea.
