Funeral Homes Are Getting Liquor Licenses

No matter what your religion, funerals always tend to get a little Irish, if you know what I mean. A hip-flask or a cooler full of iced-down beer in the back of someone's car are nothing new to funerals, but a growing trend has funeral homes getting a bit more lit...

There are now full service bars popping up in funeral homes in some parts of the United States. The $16 billion death business, which is reportedly shrinking as more end of life plans include cremation, has been challenged over the past decade to find new ways to generate revenue when it's time to pay the Piper.

Some go through local caterers to provide this service, while others have secured a liquor license. It’s not as cheap as a 30-pack of Busch Light, but it does come with some added benefits, like a bartender and liability insurance for the establishment.

The trend is picking up steam as patrons are leaning more toward a rip-roaring rager than a depressing old fashioned full of sadness and silence.

When I go out, I want the party to wake the dead.  Read more on the growing trend HERE
