Back in 2009, Zombieland hit and became an instant classic. This marked the start of the zombie genre revolution, because the following year The Walking Dead came out and zombies became a hot commodity.
Nearly 10 years later (after much anticipation), new details have emerged about a rumored follow-up to the cult classic, and good news... the original cast is on-board to "nut up or shut up."
The screenwriters for Deadpool2, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, dropped the juicy details in an interview with Vulture Magazine...
âWeâre going on the tenth anniversary of Zombieland,â Wernick tells Vulture. âZombieland came out October of 2009. We donât know what you get someone for their tenth anniversary, but it may be a Zombieland 2.â Though he hedged with that âmay be,â it seems like itâs not so far from a âwill be.â âThe hope is that weâre shooting that thing early 2019 for an October of â19 release,â Wernick added â then tossed in even more good news for devotees: âWith the original cast, by the way.â (via)
The film earned $102.4 million at the box office with a budget of only $23.6 million. It shouldâve been fast-tracked for a sequel and we should be on the third or fourth installment of this film franchise by now. Either way, tickle me re-animated.
