Governor Tom Wolf wants PA to be the 12th state in the US to legalize regulated recreational marijuana.
In a press conference Wednesday, Wolf changed his tune and supported legislation that would ease laws regarding criminal charges involving small amounts of cannabis and expunge the records of those previously charged. This would effectively decriminalize marijuana in our state, which will help Pennsylvanians find jobs and housing.
Wolf also said he supports the legalization of regulated recreational marijuana for adults. Opponents to the idea still call marijuana a schedule 1 narcotic, which is preposterous, and a minority view. Wolf said he changed his stance on marijuana after a "marijuana listening tour" initiated by Lt Gov Fetterman, where they basically went around and asked people of they think it should be legal. And the resounding answer? YES
