Lance Bass Shares Story Of Winning, Then Losing, Bid On 'Brady Bunch' House

If you happened to be on Twitter over the weekend, you may have seen the pretty wild back and forth of Lance Bass writing about his bid for the famed Brady Bunch house, only to then follow up about ultimately losing the bid in the end.

Confused? So was I.

Here's what all went down.

On Friday, Lance tweeted that he had won the bid for the house, which had an unknown fate after it went on the market and fans of the show worried if the new buyers would end up tearing down the famous home.

The home is located in the Toluca Lake neighborhood of Los Angeles, and while only the exterior of the house was used in the show, which aired from 1969 to 1974, the house still gets anywhere from 30 to 50 visitors per day.

Lance's original tweet about getting the bid to the home was originally met with a lot of people hoping that he would just restore the inside of the home and keep it from being torn down, including a message from Jonathan Silver Scott from Property Brothers.

Lance also got a congratulatory tweet from Maureen McCormick, who played Marcia Brady on the show:

But after the celebrations, Lance was told he no longer was the winning bid on the home, and someone else would be getting the home - in fact, a Hollywood Studio was ultimately the "someone else" who won the home.

Lance shared the full story of what happened in an Instagram caption:

Lance shared his feelings on losing the bid in the end writing, "isn't a deadline a deadline?" in regards to being told only after the original deadline that he was not going to own the home after all.

"Due to 'unforeseen circumstances' the same agent informed us that there's another Corporate Buyer (Hollywood studio) who wants the house at any cost. We were prepared to go even higher but totally discouraged by the sellers agent, they will outperform any bid with unlimited resources."

All we can hope now is that the Hollywood studio who will end up with the home has plans to restore it, rather than demolish it.
