We certainly live in a world where parents are encouraged to limit their kids' screen time for the first several years of their life.
And that's great and all, but I admittedly don't limit it that much - my twins aren't playing on iPads or cell phones yet (wayyy too young for that at 6 months!) but we do turn on kids movies and kids TV channels from time to time.
But for Zooey Deschanel, she says her daughter Elsie gets just about "no" screen time... and yet somehow still loves the movie Frozen.
Her daughter is 3 years old now (wow time flies) and while Zooey says they really don't allow her to watch TV, her daughter has seen the movie a couple of times on airplanes. But that's not how she fell in love with the movie!
Instead, it's because they listen to the songs at home and even dress up as the characters:
“She’s really not allowed to have screen time. She’s seen it once or twice on a plane but she just sings the songs all the time,” Deschanel, 38, explained. "We listen to the songs all the time, we dress up in the costumes. It’s a daily thing.”
Zooey revealed her daughter's favorite movie at the Baby2Baby gala earlier this month (that I was at!) - while there she also said that she isn't rushing into getting back into acting right this moment, as she just wrapped a 7-season run on New Girl.
“I do want to get back out there, but not until I find the right situation. I’m just having such a great time being with my kids because they’re really little and every day is different and exciting and fun."
Sooo sweet! I definitely relate - getting to spend extra time with my babies any chance I get is so special.
