As most women know, menstrual cycles are a lot to deal with… from the time we’re PMS-ing and are cranky and tired…to when we’re actually on our periods, etc…

So, a California doctor is urging businesses to give female employees three days off work each month in order for them to deal with their menstrual cycle.

Dr. Mindy Pelz says male workers should also be able to take the same number of days off for the sake of fairness. But is it necessary?

Personally, I think it’s a little extreme and where do we draw the line? I got my period at the age of 12, my cramps as a teen were way worse than they are now…should I have been giving 3 days off school all those years?

The doc says it is “destroying” a woman’s “hormonal system” to be at work while suffering through PMS symptoms, such as headaches and irritability.

Last year, Spain became the first European country to entitle workers to paid menstrual leave, giving women three to five days off per month.

Meanwhile, in Indonesia, female workers don’t have to work on the first two days of their menstrual cycle if they are experiencing any pain whatsoever.
