When SNL brought Larry David on to play Bernie Sanders, I thought the casting was brilliant. The resemblance is pretty uncanny. As it turns out, it's no coincidence that there's a resemblance because Larry & Bernie are actually distant 3rd cousins!
Larry is set to appear on an upcoming episode of the PBS genealogy series "Finding Your Roots" in which he learns that he's a distant cousin of Bernie Sanders.
