Jimmy Fallon returned for his first taping on Monday after taking a week off to grieve the loss of his mother. As Jimmy returned to his desk, he told a story about his mom squeezing his hand 3 times to say "I love you".
As a special gift to Fallon, his staff was able to book Taylor Swift at the last minute to perform after the monologue. Taylor played for the first time live, her song "New Year's Day" which references squeezing someone's hand in the back of a cab 3 times. Pretty sure there wasn't a dry eye in the house after that. The hug between Jimmy & Taylor after the performance was truly emotional. Check out the videos below:
